King of My Heart Lyrics

Verse 1

In my heart there is a throne

And kings they try make it their own

But oh my Lord the seat’s reserved for You

In my heart there is a throne

And idols try to call it home

But oh my Lord this place is set for You

Chorus 1

Please be the King of my heart

Please be the light for my path

Please won’t You conquer the dark

‘Cause there is just no greater thing my Lord than knowing You

And trusting in Your love to see me through

Verse 2

In my heart there is a throne

And sin it comes to settle down

But oh my Lord the seat’s reserved for You

In my heart there is a throne

And fear it tries to wear the crown

But oh my Lord this place is set for You

Chorus 2

Please be the King of my heart

Please be the light for my path

Please won’t You conquer the dark

‘Cause all I really want my Lord is truly to be Yours

To dwell with You in heaven forevermore

Verse 3

In my heart there is a throne

And doubt it loves to lurk around

But oh my Lord this place is set for You

In my heart there is a throne

And I just want to make it known

That oh my Lord this place belongs to You

Final Chorus

Please be the King of my heart (Lord won’t You do it)

Please be the light for my path (See me safely through it)

Please won’t You conquer the dark

Oh Lord I want Your kingdom come

Your will for me be done

A life lived loving You oh Precious One

(Lord won’t You do it)

Your kingdom come

(See me safely through it)

Your will be done
